 'Animal Name Game' - class animals!

Class Question of the Day: Describe a place you would like to visit that you’ve never been to before. Why do you want to go there and what would you do once you arrived?

  • Prompt: Share your dream destination and what draws you to it. Would you explore nature, visit historical sites, or try new foods? Explain what makes this place interesting to you.
Students worked in teams of two or could work solo regarding this assignment. Students to present thereafter. 



Journal Entry 1: Based on today's question of the day. 

Question: Name a place you would like to visit in the world. Why do you want to go there and what would you do once you arrived?

Sample Journal Entry: 2 paragraphs. 

If I could visit any place I’ve never been before, I’d choose Kyoto, Japan. I’ve always been captivated by its ancient temples and beautiful gardens. The idea of wandering through the iconic red torii gates at Fushimi Inari Shrine and experiencing the tranquility of a traditional tea ceremony really excites me. Kyoto’s blend of history and nature seems like the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

I’d also love to explore Kyoto’s food scene, especially trying authentic Kaiseki cuisine, which is a multi-course meal highlighting seasonal ingredients. It would be amazing to taste dishes prepared by local chefs and experience the city’s rich culinary traditions. Kyoto’s unique mix of cultural and natural wonders makes it my dream destination, and I hope to visit it someday to see and experience everything it has to offer.
