Defined:
Emphysema: A chronic lung condition characterized by the destruction of the alveoli (air sacs) in the lungs, leading to difficulty in breathing. It's often caused by cigarette smoke.
Carrel: This could refer to a type of small, enclosed space or a religious or sacred area.
Roiled: To disturb or agitate (often used to describe liquids). It can also mean to make someone confused or troubled.
Errant: Straying from the proper course or standards; often used to describe someone who is behaving wrongly or misbehaving.
Chastened: To be subdued or made more humble, often as a result of a reprimand or a realization of one's mistakes.

Ch 26 Vocab: Ablutions refer to the act of washing or cleansing oneself, often for religious or ritual purposes. In a broader sense, it can also mean any sort of washing or cleaning, such as handwashing or bathing.
